Best Time to Visit Hong Kong
Hong Kong's subtropical climate divides the year into two distinct phases: a hot, humid, typhoon-prone summer (May–September) and a cooler, drier winter (November–March) that most visitors find far more comfortable. The city's legendary energy never dims, but the experience of exploring it outdoors varies dramatically between seasons.
October and November are widely considered the best months to visit — temperatures drop to a comfortable 20–25°C, humidity falls, and the skies clear to offer spectacular views across Victoria Harbour and beyond. The Chinese New Year period (January–February) brings extraordinary celebrations but also closed shops and domestic crowds. Spring (March–April) is warm and hazy but pleasant before the humid season begins.
